B2ST, 4Minute and G.NA perform for ‘AIA K-POP Live in Kuala Lumpur’

AIA – Life insurance Company in Asia is no longer just your life insurer. In conjunction of AIA’s 65th anniversary in Malaysia, it brought all-time favourite and hottest Korean acts; B2ST4 Minute and G.NA, to the country to celebrate this important milestone. AIA is the first life insurer to sponsor a K-Pop concert in the country as the way to connect with the young people through this extravagant event. Together with AIA’s employees, agency members, business partners and more than 2,000 ardent fans attended the celebration concert entitled ‘AIA K-POP Live in KL’ as it marked another memorable day for all the attendees on 27 June at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil.

Mr. Bill Lisle, the Chief Executive Officer of AIA, whose significant other is a Korean, made an appearance on the stage before the concert kicked off officially. He made his brief speech and took the opportunity to express his gratitude to all whom made the extra effort to attend the concert in support to celebrate AIA’s 65th anniversary.

When the lights turned dim, the stadium burst into loud fan cheers as they knew their favourite idols were going to take the stage soon. The whole venue turned into a beautiful place where it was filled with AIA sponsored star-shaped light stick with pink light, waving in the air. With much anticipation from the fans, female soloist G.NA appeared on the stage in a black-laced jumper which emphasized her body shape showing her beautiful curves and a black cardigan with glitter-silver lining.

Without further ado, she had the night began with Supa Solo with her strong vocal and a group of female dancers, setting up the mood of the concert. It was followed by her title track 2HOT, from her third mini album, Bloom. Her hot performance heated up the stage and the atmosphere of the stadium. After the song, she paused her performance to greet the fans warmly, and exclaimed that she was really happy to be here to perform again. She expressed her gratitude to the fans who cheered and sang aloud with her as sometimes being a solo artist can be rather “lonely”, and also thanked the fans for supporting her.

Later, she then continued her performance, sharing the stage with Yong Junhyung from B2ST, as they performed a duet I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Better. She then turned the stage into a rather slow-paced mood with a catchy song named Banana. During the short break, G.NA revealed that she is a big fan of world-known singer Rihanna. She followed up with her exclusive performance covering tracks from Rihanna; Take a bow and Rude Boy. The show went on as G.NA kept the crowd singing along to her famous tracks such as First KissTop Girl and lastly Black & White, before she left the stage for 4Minute.

The night proceeded with the charming girls from 4Minute, which consists of the five members; HyunA, Gayoon, Jiyoon, Jihyun and Sohyun.

The girls took the stage with What’s your name? in funky colorful outfits. The lyrics of the chorus were very catchy, which saw the audience singing along to the song’s catch phrase “Ireumi Mwoyeyo?”. Their stage was followed by Mirror Mirror, their second single from their first full-length album 4Minutes Left.

Due to the immense support from the crowd, the girls also sang a snippet to their latest track, Is It Poppin, which was the girls’ latest song that is to be revealed on 28 June. The lucky fans were all excited, wanting for more, and 4Minute asked the fans to stay anticipated for the full track released on 28 June. HyunA also expressed the group eagerness to return to Malaysia and perform again.

After a brief introduction and greeting from the 4Minute’s girls, they performed a relax and mellow song, I’m OK. Next, the girls took control of the stage with their powerful dance moves to few dancing tracks namely HUH and Muzik. Fanboys and girls went into frenzy and wild spirit as the girls came forward to the front stage. The cheering went louder than before as the girls came closer and interacted with fans, and they also gave out free T-shirts at the same time. After another round of interaction with their fans, they continued their performance with PretendHeart to Heart and Hot Issue before wrapping up their stage. The girls soften the hearts of many by their sweet smiles and making gesture of heart shape, expressing their love and gratitude to the audience.

Knowing G.NA and 4 Minute had finished their performances, the fans knew exactly who they should expect for the next act. With fans chanting ‘B2ST’ loudly, the boys of B2ST (BEAST); Doojoon, Dong Woon, Hyunseung, Yoseob, Junhyung and Kikwang, came up to the stage and quickly brought the crowd wild with Beautiful Night from their fifth mini album. After the song, they paused to catch their breath while taking time to greet the fans. The boys showed interest in wanting to come back to Malaysia for their ‘Beautiful Show’ tour and hope to meet the fans again. Yoseob showed his sweet and caring personality by reminding everyone to take of themselves due to the haze situation in the country. The boys took the stage and wowed the audience with their energetic choreography to Shock, Special, and Fiction. Fans in the premium VIP zone were definitely having the best moments of their life as the members constantly came towards the crowd.

The boys were so enthusiastic and full of energy as they ran around every corner of the I-shape stage. They returned to the main stage with six tall-legged chairs prepared for them as they sat to perform two sentimental tracks; Rainy Day and latest track Will You Be Alright?. Fans were lucky to have witnessed B2ST performing Will You Be Alright? for the first time at an overseas event. Junhyung was seen covering his eyes as he had probably shed some tears during the performance to his self-composed track Will You Be Alright, which the lyrics were filled with significant meaning.

After that, B2ST raised the temperature to the maximum as they took control of the stage with hit songs; I Knew ItFreeze and Beautiful before concluding their stage performance.

When the audience chanted ‘encore’ loudly, the enthusiastic boys of B2ST returned to the stage with their encore track, V.I.U. The boys got a wet treat as they emerged with bottles of water. “Unlucky” leader Doojoon was targeted as his fellow members poured water on him, though he seemed to indulge in that moment with his hands widely opened. Playful Yoseob splashed water on Kikwang before running back to the main stage. Kikwang quickly grabbed another bottle of water and took his revenge on Yoseob.

With that, the 2-hour concert ended. And as fans were leaving the stadium, they left with big smiles of satisfaction. What an unforgettable night it was, with B2ST, 4Minute and G.NA.

AIA K-POP Concert 2013 Press Conference: B2ST, 4Minute and G.NA

With Korean entertainment as the popular phenomenon in Malaysia, AIA Bhd brought the biggest Korean acts – B2ST, 4Minute and G.NA for AIA K-POP 2013 concert on 27 June. Hours before the concert, the artists presented themselves to the media press conference.

Prior to the artists making their entrance, AIA Bhd CEO Bill Lisle started off the press conference by expressing his joy of celebrating AIA’s 65th anniversary, which this huge event encompasses the opportunity for AIA to support the amazing Asian talents while capturing the interest, energy, and real passion of today’s younger generation.

Following, the press conference proceeded with the entrance of G.NA, 4Minute, followed by B2ST. All the artists made their entrance and greeted the room with sunshine smiles. They then enthusiastically answered the questions which were prepared by the media and selected by the host, with a range of questions such as future plans and areas they would want to venture to.

What have you been up to following the promotion of the single ‘Oops,’ from your latest mini album?

G.NA: At the moment I am getting my next album ready. I’ll be practising, and I’ll be going overseas to visit places like Malaysia, and hopefully I’ll be able to visit other places as well to promote myself. My album will be in the making, and hopefully that will be out soon.

Do you plan to visit Malaysia as part of your 2013 ‘Beautiful’ show tour, which begins in Seoul this July?

B2ST: On July 20th and 21st, we will be performing in Seoul for the ‘Beautiful’ tour, and we hope that we will have an opportunity to visit Malaysia in the future.

How do you feel about your success on the Gaon chart in May?

4Minute: The new song ‘What’s Your Name?’ was our comeback after a year. We were very nervous, but we’re happy that it has reached No. 1. We have a new release next week, which we hope everyone will love too.

Tell us about the dance theme of your new single ‘It’s Popping’ which will be released on the 28th of June.

4Minute: The song will debut on June 28th, and we request that our fans see for themselves when the song is released.

Are there any places in Malaysia that you wish to visit?

4Minute: I heard that the beaches in Malaysia are very beautiful, so we hope we have enough time to visit one.

B2ST: Malaysia is very stylish and fashionable, so hopefully we’ll find a chance to explore the city and do some shopping.

Doojoon, Gikwang and Junhyung have tried their hand at acting for dramas. Hyunseung, Yoseob and Dongwoon, are you all also interested in acting?

B2ST: If the opportunity arises, we would definitely be interested in acting. Having seen the other members do so well, the rest of us hope we may also achieve such success in acting.

Have you ever considered becoming more active in the acting scene?

G.NA: Unfortunately my Korean language is not as good as I would like to be at the moment. So when my Korean language improves, I would love to get the chance to try acting. Trying is always good, and so I would like to try acting one day when my language has improved.

How do you think 4Minute differs from the other girl groups out there?

4 Minute: Unlike other groups, all five of us have different personalities and characteristics, so we believe that this is our group’s unique factor.

Before concluding the press conference, the artists and the AIA CEO took a picture with the anniversary cake in conjunction of AIA 65th anniversary and B2ST leader Doojoon was really friendly to help the staff the with the entry and arrangement of the cake. The press conference ended after a brief photo-taking of all the artists.
